Jane Table Looms

The Jane 16 is the newest Jane Loom 

 The prices for the Jane 16 50 cm and 70 cm include air freight

The loom is

Things to consider

  • The  50 and 70 cm looms are available with 8 shafts, expandable to 16 shafts or straight with 16 shafts. This is a unique feature for table looms with 16 shafts.
  • There is no cord wear, since cords run over rollers and the overhead beater stays out of the way when throwing the shuttle. 
  • The Jane is the most compact 8+ shaft table loom on the market that folds easily. This makes weavers even more likely to choose the Louet Jane loom. 

 

  • . It will fit on the existing Jane floorstand.
  • 2nd warpbeams for existing Jane looms will also fit the new 16 shaft Jane.

The Jane 8 shaft table loom

  • is light, portable and easy to use. 
  • The 40  and 50 cm have a handle for carrying by your side.  
  • The 70 being larger, can be carried but requires a different hold.

 Jane 8 shaft  looms 

 are sturdy and made of lacquered beech with a built-in raddle,

  • have a good shed which makes it easy to weave on
  •  have a beater  that can be moved out of the way for ease of threading
  • have a good weaving length, before needing to advance the warp
  • have small teeth on the ratchet, ensuring consistent warp tension
  • can be folded with the warp on
  • fold up to a  suitcase shape, and the 40 and 50 cm have  a handle for easy carrying


The Jane 8 shaft loom loom comes in 40, 50 and 70cm widths, complete with a stainless steel reed 40-10 (metric), equivalent to a 10 dent per inch reed, 200/300/400 Texsolv heddles (205 mm), tie-up and lease sticks and sixteen warp sticks.


The Jane 40cm 8 shaft loom ( not expandable to 16 shafts) 

  • has a 40cm or 15 3/4 inch weaving width
  • is light-8kg (17.6lb)

This makes it a great loom for workshops and classes. It is easy to carry up stairs, manoeuvre through doorways (and you have one hand free for carrying  yarn or unlocking the door when you get home!)

 The new Jane 50cm 8 shaft loom is expandable to 16 shafts.

Those weavers who currently have a Jane 50 or 70cm with 8 shafts, have a loom which cannot be expanded.

The Jane 70cm 8 shaft loom 

  • has a weaving width of 70cm or 27 5/8 inches
  •  weighs 12kg or  26.5 lb

    Jane 70: 87 x 75 x 65 cm (34 1/4” x 29 1/2” x 25 5/8”)
    Folded 14 cm (5 1/2”) high

With its  70 cm weaving width, the Jane 70 can be folded, with the warp on, placed in the car and trolleyed to  workshops, or used at home as an efficient wide table loom. There is no handle on the side, as it is too wide to carry as "a suitcase".
