Mecchia Creel

This is a freestanding stable upright creel, with spaces for 20 cones of yarn- made with the same care as the Mecchia looms- currently in Epping Sudney

Each cone  of yarn is positioned on the wooden cone  and the yarn goes through an eye on the crossbar that is raised at an angle in front of the creel, (hanging down from the top in the picture). 

The yarn can then be drawn through a paddle or a tension box for loading a section of a sectional warp.  A creel allows one to warp with multiple yarns, and aids in all the yarn being drawn off with the same tension and length.
